Nice to move you!

Nice to move you

The European Football Championship matches will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. Four of the host cities are located in NRW: Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen and Cologne.

Whether it’s to the public viewing, to the stadium or back home - with public transport, you can get around easily throughout NRW and enjoy the European Championships in comfort.

In addition to numerous special services and increased capacities, an additional train line has been set up that connects all host cities in NRW every hour.

Security at stations and on trains will be provided by the NRW security teams together with the Federal Police, as well as up to 3,000 customer advisors and around 450 volunteers specially trained for EURO 2024. The video technology has also been expanded.

High security measures at the stations and in our means of transport guarantee you a safe journey - for example:

safety first
  • Specially trained security teams
  • Video surveillance at stations
  • Service staff provide information and guidance for passengers
  • Increased police presence and international police cooperation
  • Multilingual announcements
  • An additional rail line connects the four host cities (EM-RE24)
  • Additional trains on the RE 1, RE 4, RE 5 and RE 6 lines
  • Additional replacement buses between Krefeld Hbf and Düsseldorf Hbf

The Federal Police also provide useful tips for travelling to and from the airport safely:
